Seb’s World Tour (of North England)
In my last blog post I posed the question “Question is, can I stay awake long enough to get my 11:25am train today?!”. I had stayed up all night after doing my radio show and needed to get my train to start my mini-tour. Answer is yes, I could, but then the tube’s let me down, I missed my train and had to fork out for a new ticket (£60!)…
On the new train I decided to get my laptop out and watched UP, that I had previously downloaded and wanted to watch when I had the time. I did on this trip and it was a great solution to a long journey… Only problem is, is that I started watching it when two really “fit” girls sat opposite me on the table I was at… Now this alone isn’t a bad thing, but if you’ve seen UP, you’ll know its not a normal happy Disney film. I WAS CRYING. Balling my eyes out, in front of fit girls. AAAAAHHHHH KMN*.
Monday night, after an hour nap I had during the day was amazing! I went out with Ben (my best friend) for birthday lunch with him and his two weird but lovely flatmates Fran and Lois. Then we went to the Sheffield students union bar “Bar One”, then the union club night Population – which was weird.
It was weird because last time I went up to Sheffield, I found all Ben’s friend slightly weird apart from his then girlfriend, and a couple of his friends called Claire and Kate. I found myself talking to Kate more than Claire at the SU bar and decided to tell her I was coming up and wanted to see her! I think in the haze of being in the process of a bad break up and just wanting some positive female attention I probably, no, I can almost guarantee being WAY too clingy and in her face… I’ve done this with a few people I really respect and like as friends over the last year. Breaking up with someone you love so much sucks balls and in my case I just needed lots and lots of hugs. ANYWAY, that was off-topic…
Bar One was weird because Kate was there, and we started off not looking at each other and everyone talking to each other apart from me to her and visa versa, but by the end of the night I bought everyone still standing a drink and we sort of said hello and little sentences and I was glad to know I hadn’t completely alienated her.
Population was great, some dubstep, some indie, a great union night. Then went home, ordered a greasy donna kebab topped pizza and watched The Dark Knight for the first time. IT’S AMAZING.
Tuesday I packed my things and got on a train to Scarborough. It’s sunny here. Sunny and FUCKING FREEZING. The seaside is nice though, the view of the seafront is amazing from up high….

Yesterday Vickie and I went to the seafront properly, had Fish and Chips and also I had an ice cream, called ‘The Mega’ it’s a meter long and fucking impossible to finish!!!

Then we went out to a few of Scarborough’s nightlife venues. The first is where she works and was dead. Less said about that the better. Then we went to a place called Blue Lounge, full of students/chavs, playing the Radio 1 playlist with a DJ that – decided – to – talk – every fucking – song – and – then some.
After that place got dry (yes, dryer than chavs and students) we went to a place called Vivaz which had it’s (monthly?!) rock night. It was full of young students though so not really rock rock, there was no Slayer, or Tool, but stuff like Papa Roach, Sum 41, Blink 182 etc… It was okay. OKAY.
We got back to Vickie’s at about 4am, she went to bed about 6am, it’s now 9:30am and I’m sat in McDonalds and have been for 3 hours using the internet (because Vickie DOESNT HAVE INTERNET IN HER FLAT? WTF?!) and now on my fourth hot chocolate.
I miss London, but I like the break.

*Thanks to Pixie Geldof I’m now a fluster with acronyms, sorry everyone but if your pissed off just CTFO yeah?
