Seb’s Diaries

This weekend was the first annual Good Weekend Festival and it was AH-MAY-ZING.

The site only holding 500 people, it was a nice intimate affair. An intimate but lovely affair.

Two stages, eight food stands, one bar, a bunch of friends… It really was gorgeous.

We had to put up with one moment of monsoon rain for 30 minutes on friday evening, apart from that it was sunny sunny sunny. Literally baking hot.

The line up was brilliant! Art Brut obviously had to headline, the festival being named after Art Brut’s song of the same name. Other great acts that I saw were ‘Fly, Frankie, Fly’, Charlie and the Martyrs, Worship, Lulu and the Lampshades and the HILARIOUS Hot Club De Paris.

Also playing were friends Lighthouses – and I was blown away with how good they were! After the Jump is a video of them performing the outdoor stage on the Friday evening (just pre-monsoon), absolutely brilliant.

So I am exhausted, but now blogging because I got back from the festival at about 2pm this afternoon, but was straight out again for a meeting regarding my next festival, Big Chill.

I really need to sleep, so goodbye for now. See you in a field sometime soon? Also, don’t forget the Lighthouses video, absolute class after the jump.

I love a good hug, especially one from the larger gentleman with more love to give, or as he might be called in Vauxhall, a bear.

The 2 Bears are a music outfit that have been together for a little over a year now, and consist of, well, two bears. Raf Rundell, and Joe Goddard (from Hot Chip).

I would bore you, but either you know about them already, or if you don’t, head over to their website the2bears.co.uk – but just after you listen to this:

This, is The 2 Bears latest track, and one I am very excited about. Bear Hug.

They are hosting one of the FAR OUT AFTER DARK nights at the Green Man Festival this year, which means we be getting mash up at night. Yeah, you know it. (I’m hosting the main stage at Green Man this year, too! Truly win win!)

I’m only three years late, but I’m finally wanting to buy a Kigu outfit.

Yeah, the cool kids don’t like them anymore, but I’ve never really liked the ones that have been about until now – there are a bunch of new ones that are available via different retailers other than the UK main one, and I’m feeling it, finally…

So can you help me decide what I want?

What Kigu should Seb buy?

  • Lion (55%, 32 Votes)
  • Pink Unicorn (45%, 26 Votes)

Total Voters: 58

Your decision is final, innit.

Voting has closed, and I have bought the lion! Pictures to come soon!

I’ve just started re-watching The West Wing for the pilot, and I love it dearly. I used to think it was Aaron Sorkin at his best, and it was, until 2006.

This is when NBC started broadcasting Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Also written by Sorkin, it was The West Wing, but instead of being based at The White House it was based behind the scenes at a fictitious live comedy show called Studio 60, which was based on Saturday Night Live.

This is a show with my two favourite characters from The West Wing appear, Josh Lyman and Danny Concannon. Josh, aka Bradley Whitford appears as a prospective new producer. Danny, aka Timothy Busfield plays a character called Danny (weird that) who is the shows director.

The reason I am blogging about this is because I tweeted that I had started watching The West Wing, got talking to people and no one had heard of Studio 60. I love it, and I know you will too…

Now ignore the spanish subtitles, and watch this…

So what happens when you are bored, have put some butter on bread and also made some popcorn? This.

It’s one way to cure boredom. Now back to work.
