Not exactly that recent, but DAT Politics are AMAZING. That’s right, thanks to my friend Hermeet who produces the Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show on 6music I have been introduced to them, and have fallen in love.

Based from Lille in France, the trio got together in early 2000 when they formed ‘Skipp’, their label and graphic design project. Ever since they’ve been producing great bullshit* like this…

It’s apparently being played on Radio 1 quite a lot, which normally would make me not want to mention it to try to be cool, but fuck it, THIS SONG IS AMAZING.

I’ve been a huge fan of Wileys, even from the grime days, and this taster of this latest album is just amazing… So is the video!

Anyway, it’s produced by Chew Fu, who I’ve had my eye on for a couple of years now, ever since I heard his refix of Beastie Boys – An Open Letter To NYC… Here it is, in its full glory! ENJOY!

If you don’t know who Cibelle is? Then, who are you? Well, you’re me about a year ago, before I met her… even then I didn’t really know who she was. She came into the radio station I was working at to do a show, and we had a nice chat, and all I thought to myself was “Who is this eccentric weirdo? She’s rather cute!”.. And she came in to do a few more shows and I still hadn’t heard her music. By this time we were on good speaking terms (i’d like to think) and yeah, that was that. A few months later, I was surfing the blogs, and saw her name on a youtube video, and thought – you know what, I’l have a little peak. Not really putting Cibelle and music together, because she was just someone I had met and got to know as a weird Brazilian.

IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. The video, the music, the voice. It was the video for her song London London. It was simply beautiful. This was the day I fell in love with Cibelle.

And this is the song I’ve chosen as track of the day. A song from an album that never ceases to amaze me, nor pick me up when I am down. This is Cibelle, with Waiting.

Wild Beasts are a UK indie outfit from Kendal (home of Kendal Calling, I would imagine)…. look at me, as if I’m writing a Wikipedia entry… In fact, why don’t you just read their Wiki for more information about them. This remix is a great late night chill out track that will get you focused and drive you through the night. I love it so much it’s gone into my late night playlist!
